Welcome Cobb Bar Association Children’s Emergency Fund!

Welcome Cobb Bar Association Children’s Emergency Fund!

Everyone needs a helping hand at times, and the Cobb Bar Association has created a fund to lend that help to members of our community who need it most. The Children’s Emergency Fund (CEF) was established to raise money for families throughout our community who are in crisis.  This may be due to Mom or Dad being laid off from work, being injured, suffering a severe illness, or other uncontrollable situations. This emergency fund offers a one-time financial grant to assist with bills, clothing, housing, etc., to get them back on their feet or keep them from falling behind.

One of the ways that the Cobb County Bar Association raises donations for the CEF is through their annual Sleighbells on Square 5K Race. With the support of businesses and organizations sponsoring the event and the assistance of local social workers, the CEF is able to do things like keep the lights on for financially desperate families, provide eyeglasses to schoolchildren, and even keep whole families in their homes and off the streets.

When Cobb Bar Association President Carlos Rodriguez joined the Board of Directors for the Cobb Community Foundation, he did his homework. When he learned having an Agency Fund with CCF would provide benefits like a greater investment return, a lighter administrative load, and more exposure to donors, he worked with the Bar Association’s staff to take action.
