Welcome La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant Scholarship Funds

After 29 years in business with successful expansions across Georgia and beyond, the leadership team at La Parrilla Mexican Restaurants has been taking stock of their success and looking for unique ways to celebrate. Grateful for the many opportunities that have come their way, they recently began exploring ways to give back to the community that has embraced their delicious cuisine and family style hospitality.

Cobb Community Foundation (CCF) Board Member Gaspar Rodriguez recently introduced the La Parrilla team to CCF and the many ways to help those in and around Cobb community to thrive. Juan Henao, Jairo Troncoso, Martin Velasquez, and Diana Caldaron were enthusiastic about getting to know more about CCF partnerships. When they learned about the scholarship program, it immediately resonated because their business has relied heavily on manpower provided by young people attending school. The ability to help relieve some of the financial burden and to create more opportunities for the next generation through education was very appealing. Because CCF has a turnkey scholarship program that lightens the load on the sponsoring partner, it made their decision easy. Their team provided their goals for what the scholarship would accomplish and the CCF team handled the rest.

Wishing to do something significant, they elected to create two different categories for scholarships: Marietta High School Graduating Senior Scholarships and Restaurant Employee Scholarships.

This year on the night of the Marietta High School 2023 Senior Awards Celebration, two La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant scholarships for $2,500 were awarded for the first time to Emily Saavedra and Nicole Munoz. The next day at their corporate staff meeting, two La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant Employee Scholarships for $2,500 each were awarded for the first time to employees Michael McHugh and Noel Ferreira.
