Welcome Macallan Group Charitable Fund

The Macallan Group owns, operates, and manages independent companies that focus on different sectors of the real estate, development, and construction industries. Founded in 2002, the firm has a unique business model and has been named among the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Best Places to Work 4 years in a row. Macallan has focused on corporate culture and empowering their team to achieve personal and professional goals while actively supporting their community. Because each of the Managing Partners has supported the Cobb community through their own Cobb Community Foundation (CCF) charitable giving funds, they have experienced the benefits firsthand. Recently they opened a corporate giving fund for Macallan Group to allow them to support their community in an even more impactful way.

Approaching their 20th year in business, this forward-thinking group is reflecting on their role in the community and their core principles. Macallan’s culture of giving back is about improving the lives of the community as well as their team, their partners, and their clients. Since their founding, they have participated in countless charitable events and have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to community nonprofits. They shared they are honored to assist effective organizations such as Center for Family Resources and Camp Twin Lakes by donating their time and energy for special building projects.

From large, all-employees on deck to individual charitable projects, they encourage their team to better their community through these efforts. Employees enjoy an allotment of 10 paid hours a year for philanthropic activities in addition to a full day every year when they close the office to participate as a group in a large-scale volunteer day complete with a cookout and matching t-shirts. A company matching gift to a nonprofit of their choice is also an annual benefit offered to their team.

With a passion for community service, the leadership at Macallan plans to continue to grow this culture with new employees and this new fund at CCF to help amplify their future charitable giving efforts. VP Michele Harry said, “I could talk all day about how much we enjoy our work with Brumby Elementary, Simple Needs Georgia, Must Ministries and the Everybody Wins Reading Program. Since we participate in so many different charitable giving projects throughout the year, it’s great to know that the many tasks associated with tracking donations will be simplified through CCF’s management.”
