Welcome Kidz2Leaders Fund

Nearly 200,000 children in Georgia have been impacted by parental incarceration. When we look at the financial toll, Georgia’s prison expenditures are more than $1 billion annually. When we consider the human toll, having a parent in prison is listed as one of the top Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), according to the Centers for Disease Control. In addition to the trauma and stigma associated with parental incarceration, research shows that children of inmates are three times more likely to become involved in the criminal justice system.

Kidz2Leaders exists to break the cycle of incarceration by providing stability, opportunity, and a Christian community for children of inmates. Their decade-long continuum of programming guides these children toward a life of self-sufficiency, joy, and success at no cost to their families. Since 1999, their programs have impacted more than 1,500 campers and family members. Young adults who complete their programs go on to lead independent lives, avoid incarceration, and contribute back to their communities through leadership and volunteerism.
