Cobb Community Foundation (CCF) and United Way of Greater Atlanta are thrilled to announce the six exceptional nonprofit professionals selected for our 2024-2025 Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) Credential & Incentive Grant cohort. In partnership with Kennesaw State University (KSU), this transformative program equips leaders with a nationally renowned credential in nonprofit management, fostering innovative strategies and impactful leadership within the nonprofit sector.
The credential is obtained through a 6-month online course with 6 in-person workshops facilitated and hosted by Assistant Dean and Professor Dr. Jennifer Wade-Berg, PhD, MPA, CNP. Participants are expected to commit at least 10 hours per week to gain the full benefit of this in-depth training while balancing their nonprofit responsibilities. The curriculum includes both theoretical knowledge and real-world experience to tackle pressing challenges in the nonprofit sphere.
Beyond earning the CNP credential, participants are also given access to Elevate, a three-day virtual conference hosted by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (NLA). This event connects leaders nationwide to share insights, strategies, and trends shaping the future of nonprofit management.
Incentive Grant – The Big Finish!
Upon successful completion of the program, each participant’s organization will receive a $5,000 unrestricted grant, funded by Cobb Community Foundation and United Way of Greater Atlanta. This incentive grant, dubbed The Big Finish, empowers organizations to utilize the funds as they see fit, with expert recommendations provided during the workshops.
Eligibility and impact
This opportunity was available to nonprofits serving Cobb who are classified under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code as a nonprofit or those with a fiscal sponsor, with a proven track record of at least one year. Eligible participants must hold a bachelor’s degree or have extensive field experience, showcasing their commitment to the nonprofit industry.
All of the participants bring a wealth of passion, leadership, and dedication to their nonprofit work.
About the partnership
This collaborative initiative exemplifies the shared commitment of Cobb Community Foundation, United Way of Greater Atlanta, and Kennesaw State University to elevate nonprofit leadership and empower organizations to create sustainable, meaningful change in their communities. The grant is expected to make a profound impact on organizations based in or serving Cobb County, fueling innovative initiatives and amplifying their mission.
Stay tuned
In July, participants will complete the program and celebrate with final presentations at a luncheon hosted by Kennesaw State University.
