Match Magic: Cobb’s Giveathon is Gaining Ground

Cobb Community Foundation’s Match Magic is well underway! This exciting initiative empowers 25 Cobb County nonprofits to unlock their share of a $100K+ match pool, driving more funding toward vital programs in our community. We’re thrilled to announce that, in the past seven days, we’re just shy of $200,000 in donations raised for these incredible organizations, and we’ve witnessed some truly inspiring moments along the way!  There are now just seven days left to donate!

Thanks to Walton Communities, an anonymous funder, and many other generous sponsors, we have a $100,000 match pool to help participating organizations generate more funding for their critical work in the community.  Non-profits will get a proportionate share of what they raise collectively between November 19 – December 3, 2024 from the match pool, and can earn up to 10% in matching funds.

Watch this video to hear what Shari Martin, President and CEO of Cobb Community Foundation has to say about the Match Magic campaign.

Every donation to our Match Magic campaign tells a story, and we’re thrilled to share one that truly touched our hearts. On Thursday, November 21, Ken Snell, Executive Director of Northside Church, stopped by with a check for $52,000 to benefit Cumberland Counseling Centers—one of our incredible campaign participants.

What makes this gift extra special is the creativity behind it. Northside Church typically supports Cumberland Counseling Centers with monthly contributions. But this year, they bundled their entire annual donation into a single, generous gift to maximize its impact through Match Magic. What an inspiring way to amplify their support!

This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of Alexandra Thompson and the team at Cumberland Counseling Centers, who went the extra mile to secure this significant match.

We’re so grateful to Ken, Northside Church, and every single donor who’s contributed to this campaign. Big or small, each donation creates ripples of change in our community. Together, we’re proving that when generosity meets purpose, the results are nothing short of magical.

Here’s to many more stories of impact and hope!
