On August 28, the Cobb Community Foundation (CCF) hosted a Grant Seeker Session that drew an enthusiastic crowd eager to learn about the 2024 grant program. CCF Programs Manager, Alexandra Boyle, led a comprehensive discussion on the upcoming grant opportunities, ensuring that attendees left well-equipped with the information needed to maximize their chances of success.

2024 Competitive Grantmaking Offerings

Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) & Incentive Grant
This unique, nationally recognized credential will be available to a select group of 7 nonprofit leaders through a custom program offered by Kennesaw State University. The CNP program is designed to enhance leadership skills and organizational capacity, a sentiment echoed by Michelle Jordan from the United Way of Greater Atlanta and Laurie Wong, Director of Reflections of Trinity, who shared her positive experience as a participant in last year’s cohort.

Match Magic: Cobb’s Holiday Giveathon
During this two-week fundraising event, 25 local nonprofits will be featured in CCF’s Cobb Thrives Gift Guide. These organizations will also be showcased on our Donor Portal and across social media platforms, increasing their visibility and encouraging generous donations. Serenade Heights Development Associate, Amber Jones, shared her experience from being in the Gift Guide last year, emphasizing the importance of strategic donor engagement and the benefits of utilizing QR codes to streamline the giving process. Her story is a testament to the effectiveness of careful planning and coordination in driving successful fundraising outcomes.

Success Stories and Practical Insights

Alexandra Boyle also discussed the success of last year’s grant program, highlighting the introduction of the Cobb Thrives Gift Guide fundraising catalog. Special Giveaway and Closing Remarks

Stakeholder Engagement Director Shelly Owens closed the session by introducing attendees to Nithin Elango, Owner and Creative Director of NE Studios, who generously offered a video package to one lucky nonprofit through a raffle. The prize was awarded to Smyrna Arts Council member, Robert Harrison.
