ATLANTA, November 15, 2023—Cobb Community Foundation (CCF) announced today that the 2023 Cobb Thrives Gift Guide is now available in print and online. The 24-page colorful catalog features a registry of holiday wishes requested by 30 nonprofits operating locally. Represented in the catalog are requests that have been a little harder to get funded this year, but which will make a big impact on how the organizations’ missions are carried out.Designed for ease of use by donors, the Guide breaks down the needs of each nonprofit into tangible, real-life items anywhere from weighted blankets to water heaters. Donors can choose to fund an entire item or can make a gift of any size toward an organization’s request.Donors can feel good about where their gifts are going because of the thorough screening completed by trained volunteers and professionals. The result of their efforts is a well-rounded collection of relatable requests that are easy to support. Contributions can be made by using an online donations portal, by mailing a check, by sending marketable securities or making a grant from a donor advised fund.“The nonprofit organizations selected to appear in the Guide are excited to have this new opportunity to bring attention to their very real needs,” shared CCF Director of Stakeholder Engagement, Shelly Owens. “During our Grant Seeker Information Session, we had lots of great questions and very good feedback about the new grant opportunity. We are excited about how well-received it was in this first year. Our hope is to make this an annual opportunity.”
“As a community foundation, it is our job to know what organizations are making an impact and to share that knowledge with those who can help. We see the Guide being a conversation starter for families deciding how they want to give back during this holiday season, or for clubs or offices looking for ways to make meaningful gifts. I can’t wait to see how the Gift Guide will be used.” – Shari Martin, CCF CEO & President
The Cobb Thrives Gift Guide is one of three grant opportunities available through CCF’s 2023 Thrive Grant program. Currently under review are submissions to the Certified Nonprofit Practitioner (CNP) Grant. More announcements will be made as the selection process moves along. The third type of grant offered this year are the Strategic Grants, targeted for initiatives that achieve strategic goals set by the leadership of Cobb Community Foundation.
