Welcome Chattahoochee Nature Center Endowment Fund!

The Chattahoochee Nature Center is a 127-acre nature center on the Chattahoochee River where 130,000 people each year connect with each other and the land through a shared respect for nature. An Atlanta nature destination, visitors explore trails, exhibits, programs, and events in the forest, wetland, and river habitat.

With increasing concerns about clean air, clean water, and wildlife preservation, the importance of protecting the environment is steadily capturing more attention. For example, even as the population grows in Atlanta, the available water supply will remain the same, and spending time in and learning about nature is a good start toward understanding the importance of preservation. At the Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC), their mission is to connect people with nature. They achieve this by hosting a multitude of events, educational and cultural programs for adults and children, water activities, and wildlife rehabilitation programs, all onsite.

CNC is positioned for its next stage of growth and is eager to improve and expand its role in our community as Atlanta’s Nature Destination. As they embarked this spring on a capital campaign for physical improvements, they opened an endowment fund at Cobb Community Foundation (CCF). Some advantages of this new endowment are cost-effective, professional asset management overseen by CCF’s investment committee; a mechanism for handling complex contributions; and higher visibility among donors and other nonprofit agencies in and around Cobb County. We look forward to sharing more information about the essential stewardship role that the CNC has taken on.
