Planning for Good

Cobb Community Foundation welcomes new fundholders, Susan and Tom Tillery, who chose to make their charitable giving fund with CCF a vital part of their estate plan.  We are honored to be chosen by the Tillerys because Susan and Tom know a thing or two about financial and estate planning.  Susan serves as President and CEO and Tom serves as Vice President and CCO for Paraklete Financial, and they have each been inducted into the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils Estate Planning Hall of Fame®.  In their spare time, Susan and Tom have co-authored multiple textbooks and curricula and are frequent speakers on the topics of financial planning, tax advisory services and charitable giving, among others.

The Tillerys know all the tax-advantaged and strategic reasons to open a charitable giving fund but they chose Cobb Community Foundation because of our Cobb-centric focus on community needs and broad knowledge of the nonprofits meeting those needs.  Susan and Tom are Cobb residents already giving to causes they care deeply about but they would like to make their giving even more impactful.  When asked where they learned generosity, Tom spoke of the importance of giving to their Christian faith and how they want to bless the community in which they live and work.  Susan recounted a story from her childhood at the age of eight, watching a Jerry Lewis telethon and thinking “I want to help”.  With her mother’s assistance, Susan planned and held a backyard fair raising $35 to give to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  The Tillerys still want to help and Cobb Community Foundation is honored to help make their giving easy and more impactful.

At CCF, we’re here to help you learn more about more impactful giving in a tax-advantaged way.  Inspiring charitable giving, building resources for the future and connecting donors who care with causes that matter is what we do.   If you are interested in giving back to community nonprofits, or finding out more about the work they do and the needs they have – please go to Cobb Community Connection to search by location, population served, or causes addressed.
