WELCOME DEVEREUX GEORGIA FUND

“Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Georgia was established in Cobb County in 1973 at the invitation of Gov. Jimmy Carter. Celebrating their 50th year, Devereux provides hope and healing for children, adolescents and young adults living with emotional, behavioral, and cognitive differences.

Studies show that 1 in 5 children have, or will have, a serious mental illness in their lifetime – but help is available. At Devereux Georgia, they provide individualized services and supports to meet the unique needs of each child. Their goal is to help children lead productive, meaningful and socially-connected lives in their homes, schools and communities.

Devereux Georgia is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the state of Georgia. All Devereux clinicians are licensed and experienced in state-of-the-art treatment options, including drug and alcohol addiction, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), aggression replacement, inappropriate sexual boundaries and working with commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC).

Devereux uses individual, group and family therapy, coupled with a fully accredited school, Ackerman Academy, to create a therapeutic community where children can grow, develop and thrive.

Recently a new basketball court was transformed through a makeover by a group of local artists and community connectors to provide a unique place for Devereux residents to spend time relearning to be loved and experience healing.
